Thank you for the answer, P4Shimada.

Yes, I know how to specify 3rd party diff/merge tool with Perforce clients.

However, when diff is requested, then these tools will be launched with
temporary files as command line parameters. My question is: whether is it
possible to launch these tools with actual repo paths ?

Araxis Merge is a good example. It has native P4 support
[http://www.araxis.com/merge/documentation-windows/plugin-perforce.en] , so I
can specify P4 repo paths directly in the diff program. As a bonus I can select
different revisions of the same file without leaving the diff window.

I was wondering if it's possible to configure P4V, so it calls 3rd party
diff tool with actual repo paths.
